The two main men in my life, and fellow Killer Dillers, Juan Villafane and Kevin St Laurent, are currently training for a recreation of the Berry Brother’s number Fascinating Rhythm, from the film “Lady Be Good”. Cane tricks, soft shoe tap and acrobatics – all whilst pimping some seriously slick black tuxedos, yes indeed! You’ll be able to see them perform it at Frankie Manning’s 95th Birthday, and no doubt at the Jump Session show at Camp Jitterbug also. Julie, Megan, Sami and the ladies at the Sweet Molasses Blues Weekend in Boston, recently performed a group version of Sandra’s Stroll, a blues line dance I choreographed many a year ago now. The dance was in honour of Sandra ‘Boogie’ Gibson, and inspired by her saucy performance in The Spirit Moves. The girls rocked some little black dresses and generally sauced it up in splendid fashion – nicely done ladies! Here’s the video:
